ProMash So, how do you create new beer recipes? Well, you could take an existing recipe and tweak it a bit, which is a great way to explore your beer creativity. But what happens when you want something completely off the wall, something no one has brewed before? Turn to the tools the experts use. ProMash is a $25 program that contains an extensive library of brewing ingredients, beer styles and adjuncts. The interface can be a bit overwhleming at first, but once you get a hang of things you can quickly and easily see how the ingredients you want to add to your beer will affect it’s color, gravities and, to some degree, taste. The style library allows you to start with the BJCP-defined guidelines for specific styles and modify your ingrediants to fit those guidelines. The program also lets you track brewing sessions - including recipe variations - to help you maintain your records to become a better brewer. Extract, partial mash or all grain - it doesn’t matter. ProMash will help you develop the beer of your dreams. Go ahead - make my day. Leave a comment. Care to comment? You must be logged in to post a comment. |
