Let the Madness Begin

Posted December 2nd, 2002

Belated Happy Thanksgiving to y’all. Mine was pretty cool. We travelled up to Chico to hang out with Danielle’s family. It was actually quite nice as it had been a while since the entire Tokarski clan had gotten together. With about 12 people, the place was fairly raucous, but it was all good. Grandma Tokarski hosted the shindig at her fairly new home, which is just about as warm and welcoming as you could hope for. Grandma is a wonderful lady.

So, now the holiday madness officially begins. I’m under pressure to get the Christmas letter up, which I’ll probably do this week. We did some cleaning of the home yesterday in preparation for the holidaze. We weren’t going to decorate this year, but Dani got a wild hair and decided to host a holiday craft party, which ought to be fun for her. While the ladies are burning themselves with the hot glue gun, the respective boyfriends/husbands will probably find a bar or something and hang out. That should be fun.

We can’t get too wild this year, though, as we won’t be in town for Christmas. For the first time in what seems like forever, we’ll be going down south to visit my family (to Bill: I’ll let you know the specifics soon). It’ll be good to see everyone. Dani’s a little stressed about it primarily because it’s always a whirlwind of travelling when I go home. If we went down more often, it wouldn’t so stressful, but time, life and money prevent us from going more often.

While down, we’ll also be hitting Disneyland, which I have promising for, oh, three years or so now. It’s snowing on Main Street so we have to go huck a couple of snow balls.

So, that’s the haps in the life of Rob. Busy busy busy working on a couple of projects, trying to get as much done before the first of the year as humanly possible, which is tough. I’ll have some photographic assignments coming up soon, which is cool. I also need to upload the pics from the digicam. I haven’t had ton of pics to put up yet because I’m still getting a handle on the thing. It’s a Fuji FinePix S602 and is one hell of a nice camera. My only complaint is that the manual focus is really unresponsive and imperfect. I have way too many blurry photos. Fortunately, the auto focus works pretty well. I just don’t like having to rely on it.

So, I *swear* there will be some pics to look at from it soon, I just need to get my stuff together and put them online. Be patient.
